On this page is a compilation of local resources that may be of interest to teachers and teacher leaders in Minneapolis. I included in here resources available in Minnesota as well as those outside. This is premised on the fact that our definition of community and local is evolving as well as access to resources. Many of the organizations found here are organizations I have volunteered for, worked for or applied to work for or participate in their programs as I strive to develop my global competence and be an effective teacher of global citizens. Minneapolis Public Schools is also partnering with some of these organizations (example World Savvy and Habitat for Humanity) to provide project-based service learning opportunities for our students as well as increase their 21st century skills acquisition. Information on the sites are meant to provide insight and increase access to resources for those interested in embedding global competence in their classroom Click on image to find out more.
